Alban: Duterte has not yet endorsed a presidential bet

Malacañang clarified yesterday that President Rodrigo Duterte has not yet been supported any presidential candidate.

Acting Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Kris Ablan made the clarification after reporting on Duterte’s meeting with presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on March 20.

“I think Acting Presidential Spokesperson and PCOO Secretary Martin Andanar, my boss, confirmed to the media yesterday or two days ago that there was a meeting between President Duterte and Senator Marcos. So we’re sure of that. Is this interpretable confirmation or not? Of course, the president does not support any candidate, "says Ablan.

According to Ablan, even if there is a "scheduled meeting," it does not mean that the president already supports Marcos.

"A meeting was recently called and they have already met, President Duterte and Senator Marcos, but there is no approval as far as Malacañang is concerned," Ablan said.

Duterte himself has not yet said who will support the candidate.

Si Sen. Christopher "Bong" Go confirmed his meeting with Duterte and Marcos.
