The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has started sending vote counting machines and other automated election system (AES) supplies to various parts of the country.

This is in preparation for the upcoming national and local elections on May 9.

According to Comelec Spokesperson James Jimenez, AES supplies such as VCMs and ballot boxes will be sent to transportation warehouses designated as transit points.

He said delivery to transportation warehouses will continue in the first two weeks of April.

Jimenez said COMELEC Chairperson Saidamen Pangarungan invites political parties, stakeholders and the media to witness the closure of trucks that will deliver AES supplies.
